LIVE! CASINO PITTSBURGH WILL OPEN NOV. 24 FOR GAMING, DINING AND SPORTS BETTING

The casino is ready for its close-up. The doors are almost ready to open. And in just a few more weeks, Live! Casino Pittsburgh will go, well, live.

Live! Casino Pittsburgh announced Monday that its new $150 million facility at the Westmoreland Mall just east of Pittsburgh will officially open for business on Nov. 24. The casino plans to host some charity and invitation-only events Nov. 14 and 15 to benefit the Westmoreland County Food Bank and Sage’s Army.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 17. And then, pending final approval from the Pennsylvania Gaming and Control Board, Live! Casino Pittsburgh will open to the general public at 6 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, just a couple of days before the Thanksgiving holiday.

Live! Casino General Manager Sean Sullivan‘s excitement was evident in his announcement:

“Live! Casino is the latest world-class venue to be opened by The Cordish Companies. It’s going to up the ante on entertainment for everyone in the Greater Pittsburgh region. Whether you want to gamble, dine on first-class food or experience the ultimate in sports viewing and sportsbook action, Live! Casino has you covered.”

NEW CASINO WILL BRING FANDUEL-BRANDED SPORTSBOOK TO THE REGION

Live! Casino Pittsburgh will feature two levels of entertainment, with casino gaming located on the first floor, which will include 750 new state-of-the-art slots and approximately 30 live-action table games. The second floor will feature Guy Fieri’s American Kitchen + Bar and a portion of Sports & Social Steel City.

The Sports & Social Steel City venue will have elements on both levels of the Live! property and will feature the region’s first FanDuel-branded sportsbook. Visitors can expect impressive AV offerings, including a giant 45-foot LED video screen that will allow viewers to watch as many as 16 different games at once.

Pennsylvania’s only other FanDuel Sportsbook is at the Valley Forge Casino Resort just west of Philadelphia. FanDuel also operates a highly successful sportsbook at the Meadowlands in New Jersey.

LIVE! ONLINE CASINO ALREADY UP, LIVE! PHILLY TO FOLLOW

The Cordish Companies is an experienced operator in the sports and entertainment industry. The brand has similar properties near the stadiums of the Atlanta Braves, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals.

The Westmoreland County Live! location will open its doors in the shadows of sports-crazed Pittsburgh, about 30 minutes away from the home sites of the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates.

The opening of Cordish Companies’ first retail property in PA follows the debut of its online gaming app. PlayLive! online casino debuted in Pennsylvania in mid-August. On the retail front, Cordish plans to also open Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia, a $700 million gaming facility in the Stadium Park metro district, in 2021.

LIVE! CASINO PITTSBURGH WILL “PLAY IT SAFE” WITH HEALTH PROTOCOLS

Live! Casino Pittsburgh has launched a “Play It Safe” plan to ensure customers are maintaining proper health and safety standards when playing at the new facility.

The plan includes mask requirements, temperature checks, social distance protocols and continuous cleaning of high-traffic areas, slots machines and table game equipment. Signage will be located throughout the facility to further emphasize the safety requirements.

LIVE! ECONOMIC IMPACT WILL BE AN ASSET FOR THE REGION

From an economic standpoint, Live! Casino Pittsburgh is projected to provide $188 million in annual economic impact, along with $47.5 million in tax revenues annually for the region. Furthermore, the facility will create more than 500 permanent new jobs for local and regional residents, some of which are still available.

Given the tough economic times that we’re in, all those numbers are a tremendous asset for the area.

And it’s perhaps no surprise that Live! Casino GM Sullivan is so excited to get things started.

“This will be a thrilling venue from the moment we open our doors,” he said.

The casino is ready for its close-up.

And the wait is almost over.
