Philly’s popular Geno’s Steaks to open this winter at Power Plant in Hampton
A taste of Philly is coming to Hampton.
Geno’s Steaks, known for its cheesesteaks, plans to open its first Virginia location between PBR nightclub and Bass Pro Shops at the Power Plant area this winter.
“It’s an incredible honor to bring a piece of our Philly tradition to Hampton Roads and to stand alongside such a talented, respected group of restaurateurs in the region,” Geno’s Steaks owner Geno Vento said in an announcement. “The passion for food in this region is undeniable, and I’m excited to be part of a community that truly values quality, flavor, and hospitality.”
Geno Vento is the son of Joey Vento, who founded the iconic cheesesteak eatery in 1966. Geno’s original location is still in business at Ninth Street and Passyunk Avenue in South Philadelphia. The company has additional locations at The Cordish Cos.’ Stateside Live! and the casino in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.
