David Cordish of The Cordish Companies was the recipient of The Daily Record’s Most Admired CEO Award. The program was created to recognize talented business CEOs and nonprofit executive directors throughout Maryland for their leadership and professionalism.

The Cordish Companies was awarded the Community Guardian Business Award for redefining downtown Kansas City with the establishment of the Kansas City Power & Light District. This award is presented to a Company that values family and understands that giving back to Kansas City is both a privilege and a responsibility.

Maryland Live! Casino was selected as the Project of the Year by the Baltimore Business Journal in the March Real Estate & Development Issue. The $500 million project , which opened adjacent to the Arundel Mills Mall in June 2012, has become the highest-grossing casino in Maryland.

The Casino was recognized by the Division of Career and College Readiness (DDCR) for its ongoing business partnership with Anne Arundel Community College.

The Power & Light District won its Gold Award in the Innovative Design and Development of a New Project category. This category honors and recognizes projects which relate to a specific new shopping center and demonstrate how a specific design or construction problem was solved or how new standards in design and construction were established.
