The Cordish Companies' XFINITY Live!, WMMR and The Preston & Steve Show Host Campout for Hunger
Philadelphia, PA – 93.3 WMMR and The Preston & Steve Show will host Camp Out for Hunger, the nation’s largest single-location food drive, at XFINITY Live! (1100 Pattison Avenue, Philadelphia, PA) from Monday, November 30 through Friday, December 4 to collect food and donations for Philabundance – the area’s largest food relief organization. In addition to hosting the event, XFINITY Live! and The Cordish Companies will be presenting Philabundance with a check donation on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:30 am.
As part of Camp Out for Hunger, WMMR’s Preston & Steve will camp out and live in the parking lot of XFINITY Live!, encouraging listeners to donate much-needed non-perishable food to benefit Philabundance. Donations are collected from 6 am until 8 pm each night through Thursday, and until 11 am on the final day.
This year marks the 18th Camp Out for Hunger, which raised over 840,000 pounds of food and nearly $111,000 in 2014 alone, resulting in more than 1 million meals that Philabundance was able to provide.
Camp Out for Hunger includes The Preston & Steve Show broadcasting live each morning from the parking lot of XFINITY Live! inside a huge heated tent, complete with a live audience, guests, games, video screens and the show’s normal array of stunts and fun. Last year featured over 30 celebrities/performers to encourage fans to donate.
As part of Camp Out for Hunger, WMMR will host a comedy show featuring Dave Attel at XFINITY Live! on Monday, November 30 and a free rock show on either Tuesday, December 1 or Wednesday, December 2. Admission to both events will be a donation to Camp Out for Hunger. Throughout the week, individual donors will be eligible for prizes.
