Baltimore, MD (March 5, 2026) – Geno’s Steaks officially opened its doors today at Power Plant Live! in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, bringing its legendary Philly cheesesteaks to Maryland for the first time.

“Bringing a piece of our family history and Philadelphia’s food culture to Baltimore is truly special, and it’s an honor to join such an accomplished and well-respected community of restauranteurs,” said Geno Vento, Owner of Geno’s Steaks. “Baltimore has a deep appreciation for great food and genuine hospitality, and I’m thrilled to be part of a place that celebrates both. With so many family and friends here, opening in Baltimore is incredibly special for me personally. It was amazing to meet so many people from the community who showed up for our opening today!”

Geno’s prides itself on delivering the finest cheesesteak experience in the world, and the new location at Power Plant Live! will feature Geno’s popular menu of crowd-pleasing favorites for lunch, dinner and late night daily, including a variety of cheesesteaks, hoagies and mouth-watering cheese fries. Inside Geno’s, the space features multiple TVs great for sports watch, a stage for live entertainment, and a full-service bar with beer, wine, handcrafted cocktails, and a variety of soft drinks to suit guests of all ages. Guests will also be able to relax and enjoy their food on a furnished patio equipped with heaters out front of the new Baltimore location.

“Welcoming an iconic brand like Geno’s is a huge moment – not just for us, but for all of Baltimore,” said Anthony Matteo, Director of Operations for Power Plant Live!. “I grew up eating Geno’s at 9th and Passyunk, playing sports at the field next to the original location, so being part of bringing this legendary, family-owned brand to Maryland for the first time is especially meaningful to me. It’s been incredible working with Geno and his team, and we’re ecstatic they chose Power Plant Live! as their Maryland home. Power Plant Live! has long been a hub for unforgettable dining, entertainment, live music and special events, and the addition of Geno’s Steaks is setting a new standard for our guests and the Baltimore community.”

The Baltimore location marks an exciting moment of growth for the South Philadelphia-based family-owned company. Founded in 1966 by Philly native Joey Vento, Geno’s Steaks quickly rose from underdog to icon at 9th & Passyunk in South Philadelphia. Joey mastered the craft of cooking working in his father’s steak shop and built a loyal following with his mouth-watering cheesesteaks. In 1971, Joey and his wife had a son, Geno, who grew up in the business and now proudly carries on the family legacy, serving up one of Philly’s most beloved cheesesteaks. Geno’s currently operates in Philadelphia at their original location on 9th & Passyunk, as well as additional locations at Stateside Live! and Live! Casino & Hotel Philadelphia in the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, and Power Plant Hampton Roads in Hampton, VA.

Located one block away from Baltimore’s world-famous Inner Harbor and just a short walk from downtown hotels and attractions, Power Plant Live! is among the most visited destinations in Baltimore, welcoming tens of millions of guests for the past 25 years. Geno’s Steaks will become a major draw for the growing district which now supports multiple restaurants, bars, nightlife venues, and concert spaces, as well as over 250 companies in its expanding Spark Coworking and office communities. Last summer, the District welcomed Nevermore Hall, an electrifying new live music venue.
