A Salute To All Past Black History Heroes from 2014-2021 at The HALL at Live!, Honoring Maryland/DC Business and Community Leaders for their Contributions and Accomplishments

HANOVER, MD (February 24, 2022) – In celebration of Black History Month, The Cordish Companies, Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland and the Md. Washington Minority Companies Association (MWMCA) celebrated the 9thAnnual Black History Month Celebration on Thursday, February 24, 2022, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The ceremony, held at The HALL at Live!, celebrated and saluted all the honorees from the past eight years, with a special recognition for the 2021 honorees who were not able to be recognized in person due to pandemic restrictions. The honorees of the Black History Heroes Awards are chosen for the positive contributions made to their communities and fellow citizens.

The event included a keynote speech from Wes Moore, Democratic Candidate for Governor of Maryland, Combat Veteran, Bestselling Author, Small Business Owner, Rhodes Scholar, and CEO for the Robin Hood Foundation.

“We are honored to once again be able to host the ninth annual Black History Month Celebration at The HALL at Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland, in partnership with the MWMCA. This event pays tribute to the incredible impact that African American community leaders and businesses have across the Baltimore and D.C. regions,” said Zed Smith. “This event is one that I personally look forward to, this year especially having such an esteemed keynote as Wes Moore.
